But... But... what is an Empire Feast?
Empire Feast is comprised of treats which we will put out daily, in the form of an FB status during the month of December!


Can I have examples of what I could receive?
You can obtain: gold, rubies and lots of resources during this event!


But how can I make sure I get a daily treat?
We would advise you to Like the page. We will be putting out new treats in the form of Vouchers every day! So the way to make sure you don't miss it is to make sure you're subscribed to our Facebook Notifications! Once you get the daily voucher, you just go into your payment store and insert it there. (There will be a tutorial at the bottom of this announcement on how to redeem vouchers)

How many vouchers per day? And who can benefit?
We will post one voucher per day and EVERYBODY can benefit from it for a limited time, by inserting the voucher code in their payment store.


What if I miss one day? Can I still get that voucher?

The New Update!

Update: All About Fights

The last update for 2013 is almost here. We’ve had a lot of changes this year to the game and have a few community suggestions to finish with. So, without too much of a further delay, let’s take a look at what is coming up next –

Before we get to that though, no adventure maps with this update. We know that many of you are waiting for them, but we don’t want to add them so close to the Christmas break and run the risk of their being problems that can’t be fixed quickly enough. Therefore this feature will have to wait until next year.

Okay, now on to what is in the update.



Much faster spies !

• The movement speed while Spying has been extremely increased! Even the most distant castles will now be accessible with the right horses within a few minutes.
• The travel costs and horses, as well as the risks that a spy fails, all remain unchanged.
• This change has no effect on the speed of sabotages.

Number in the attack Horn

• The well-known attack horn no longer displays only the time until the next attack , but also a small number that will inform you how many attacks are coming!
• This should make it easier not to miss out on a new incoming attack when the horn is already displayed for an earlier attack.

Soldier, dismissed!

• In the barracks dialog it is now possible to dismiss soldiers on request.
• So it is now easier to remove troops that you no longer require.
• If units are dismissed, you will not get coins back in exchange.

Others

• Your subjects have decorated the area around your main castle to make a bit more festive.
• High level players can now obtain better versions of the special packages offered by the equipment dealer.

New Updates!

The new update can be seen now in the GoodGame Empire! It took 6 hours to complete. The biggest update ever! New Capitals and Towers and also a new Mercenary Camp.

I found all the three capitals but I will not post a pic of it because its place is a secret :P

 This is a mercenary camp! Here you can recruit soldiers with coins!

This is the Royal Tower which increases the power for capturing the new Trading Metropolis!

How to Attack??

Strategy on attacks what to do and what not to do

Ok Guys, today Rahul asked me to analyze his Combat report and give him suggestions on how to improve his attacks. So I am going to jot down his mistakes and how he could have improved it. And all should understand that I am not criticizing him, but only giving him the information to make him a better player. These suggestions are my personal suggestions and maybe I am completely wrong, so do add your bit and tips.

First the reports:

From the Espionage report you can see the defender has some 101 soldiers, 11 tools and 54 farmers.

In the detailed espionage report you can see that the defender has 

15 defense, 15 attack and 3 tools on the left flank.

17 defense, 19 attack and 5 tools on Front flank.

16 defense, 15 attack and 3 tools on right flank.

4 attack and 54 farmers in the Courtyard.

Now in the combat report you can see that the defender got supporting troops from other castles or nearby allies. That is the reason I always suggest to attack minimum 3 times more than the espionage report.
For example, if espionage report says 100 soldiers, plan your attack keeping in mind that till the attack reaches, 100 would be minimum 300 by then.

Here is the break down of the attack flank wise:

Left flank: 30 Heavy Crossbowman and 2 Siege towers
Front Flank: 87 two handed swordman and 1 maceman, 3 loot cart and 3 banners.
Right flank: 30 two handed swordman and 2 siege towers.

1. The attack was too small, only 1 wave. I would have rather sent some 400 soldiers considering the fact that if the player is online, he will deploy defense soldiers in the castle that is being attacked. Or the other alliance members near by would send their support troops. Very important to check how far the outposts of the defender are. Has the defender built a watch tower in his castle? Another guide idea is to spy the main castle and nearby outposts, from where he can send support within 30-45 mins. Also check how many alliance members are near by. We are looking for alliance members who can send support army within 30-45 mins.


2. The attack was not equally distributed in regards to melee and ranged soldiers. Always send attack based on the espionage report. As per this espionage report the defender had 50% ratio of melee and ranged soldiers, so the attack should also have been 50% ratio of melee and ranged soldiers.

3. Check the specialty of the defense soldiers before you attack. For example:
Spearman is ideal against melee attackers.
Bowman is ideal against ranged defenders.

You can check this information by going to the barracks and keeping your mouse over the soldier type in question.

Once you check what is better in what, then you need to plan your attack. It primarily has to be a counter attack on each flank.

For example:

If left flank has 4 spearman (Good against melee), attack with 12-18 Heavy Crossbowman (Ideal against melee defenders.) and so on.



4. Tools were used incorrectly. The attacker should attack with counter tools, not just any tools.

For example here in this attack, the defender had 3 tools on the Left Flank:

2 stone throwing and 1 flaming arrows

Stone Throwing increases wall protection, so we need to use tools that decrease the wall protection.

So ideal fit would be scaling ladder or siege tower.

Flaming arrows increase the defense of ranged soldiers.

So ideal fir would be Mantlet or cast iron mantlet.

You can go to the Siege and Defense workshop and do this research by taking the mouse over the tool in question and then plan your attack accordingly.

This is all I can think of right now, a little stuck right now. Will give this battle a second view when I get bit free.

Thorn King is Back!

The Thorn King is back!

Dear Emperors,

They call me the „Thornking“ and i have been exiled from my home.
My peaceful Kingdom was attacked by a mist of darkness. The land is barren, the rivers are polluted and the dead rise from their graves.

Do you accept the challenge to help me to get rid of the county from the hordes of dark skeletons?


A desperate king will visit the player, saying that his kingdom has been infested by darkness.
If you travel to the event world, you will find a new single player world map and a private camp.
The world map is dark and overgrown with vines, the map is divided into single provinces by towers.
Whenever you capture a tower the corresponding province is freed.

There are villages on the world map, where you can regularly plunder resources.
You will be faced with more obstacles on your way to your goal, such as destroyed bridges.
In your camp you can build tents, so that your soldiers have enough space, and you can use decorations to increase the morale of your troops so that they will fight better.
By completing the quest you can receive very strong troops, but be careful for these troops will need to be fed also.
All units and resources that are left over after the event can be take home with you.

Larger and more valuable decoration?
Due to community feedback we've made the new decoration for the successful completion of the event bigger and more valuable.

In addition, there are the following changes:

• There will be more bridges to repair, but these require fewer resources.
• The tents for soldiers can be upgraded to a level
• When fighting the towers and villages Relics can be looted.
• Relics can be exchanged at a dealer for additional rewards (similar to Khan tokens).
• Relics can be exchanged for new decorations, new units and equipment.
• The villages and towers towards the back of the event map will be stronger and harder than the ones at the front..

Any player who defeated the final stronghold of the Necromancer gets the big reward Decoration guaranteed. The Relic rewards are an incentive to spend more time in the event, after the necromancer has been defeated. Any unused relics will be kept until the next time the event runs

Similar to the nomad hunter, there is now also the mercenary event where you can purchase thorn king tools that are particularly effective against the undead minions of the Necromancer, which can only be used within the event.

We've got quite a large update to announce! Lets get on with it.....

Expanding the capitals

In the future, there will be new capitals with special functions added to the existing capitals on the world map. However, the existing main capital cities, as well as the number will remain unchanged. Alliances can have a “normal” capital and continue to benefit from it.

Kingdom - capitals
There are new capitals in the other kingdoms.

• In Everwinter Glacier are three main kingdom capital cities.
• In the Burning sands there are two kingdom capital cities.
• In Fire Peaks there is one kingdom capital.

The active number of capitals depends on the number of players in each kingdom.

Owners of these capitals unlock the ability for their alliance to recruit the renegade soldiers from that kingdom in their respective kingdom castle.

The kingdom capitals must be conquered. You will have to build a palace to unlock the recruitment of renegades there. The recruitment of these troops will be paid for with the respective resources of the Kingdom (coal, oil, glass). However, the acquisition is still much cheaper than the exchange in the local village.

Trade metropolises in the Great Empire
In the Great Empire there will be distributed a number of trade metropolises. Trading metropolises are captured as capitals, but instead of a palace you will need to construct a trading post.

• The possession of the trading post increases the food production of the owner and his alliance.
• This bonus applies only in the main castle and outposts of the green kingdom.
• If several alliance members have trade metropolises, it provides and additional bonus for the entire alliance.
• There is clearly more trade metropolises then capitals in Great Empire.
• The number of trade metropolises depends on the size of the server.
• A single player can own a maximum of one capital city and one trading metropolis.

King's Towers[/SIZE][/B]
Kings towers are added in the Great Empire. In contrast to the main towns and trading metropolises, there are very many of them!

King's towers can be occupied in a similar way to resource villages. So one does not need a castellan and have no occupation time. Also, no buildings can be built there.

If a player takes a King's Tower, then the entire alliance receives an attack bonus against the capitals and trading metropolises. If a player has several King's Towers or more players hold King's Towers within an alliance, then the effect of all towers is added together. A player can hold as many King's Towers as they can successfully defend!

The purpose of the King's Towers is that owners of commercial cities and capitals now cannot solely concentrate on the defence of their capital or trade metropolis, but also must continue the offensive on the world map so that they can keep their achievement even longer. Capital owners who do not sufficiently take care of King's Towers will find it difficult to be able to permanently defend their capital.


Power Ranking
For a better overview of the many capitals, cities and King’s towers, as well as the influence of individual alliances, there is a new ranking category called "power." Owning different landmarks will give alliances points in the ranking. Different captured locations have different point values. A capital for example, gives more points than a King’s Tower.


Other features in this update
" Hiring mercenaries" function
In front of the main castle there is a small gathering place where every now and then mercenaries will setup camp.

• Mercenaries will offer their services for coins. Once they are bought they are permanently owned by the player.
• The offers will be composed of exisitng troops (no new ones)
• You can choose from three different offers and have the option to hire them or to send them away.
• The offers are always available for a short time period.
• If offers expire or are rejected, then it takes a while until a new offer comes.
• The soldiers offered depend on the level of the player.
• Sometimes there are particularly lucrative offers…..

It should reward players who often stop by in their castle.

Better feast!
There is now an even stronger version of the feast which increases the recruitment rate, but costs more food than the other versions of the feast.

Strongholds can be built anywhere
The Stronghold can now be built anywhere (Outpost, capitals, kingdom castles).
In a conquest attack the units in the stronghold will still defend. The demolish function will follow in a later update.

Other Changes

• The resource costs of the first extension in the kingdoms were reduced.
• The walls and tool slots of resource villages will now be adapted to the level of the player.
• The tooltip for the population was enhanced with a hint.
• Quests the give rubies, but no XP will now be separately marked as Ruby Quest in the quest log.
• Players at lower levels now have a "Show me!" Button in the quest log.
• The default name for a conquered resource village is now always the coordinates of the village.
• The hospital building will now get new graphics for the expansion stages 4 and 5
• The construction of the throwing stones in the tutorial (Level 3) was reduced from 8 to 3 seconds.
